What is Offsite SEO?
Offsite SEO is a bit of a shorter, though more nuanced topic compared to onsite SEO. Offsite refers to taking place off of the main website, this means using other means of bringing attention to the page. Doing things like building backlinks, creating a social media presence for the site or company, and establishing partnerships with other trusted sites.
1. Backlinks
Building a net of backlinks can prove to be a fair bit difficult. You have to find the right place to go, post the appropriate link that connects to the correct landing page, and hope that the link actually draws in clicks. That being said, backlinks are proven to be one of the best ways to rank high on Google, with how much special attention Google gives to this aspect of SEO.
You can build up backlinks through posting them on sites like YouTube, Reddit, X, or Instagram. Although this is more so useful for preestablished and trusted brands because there aren’t a lot of people who will click on a link from just anybody. Another way of building backlinks is by emailing admins of other websites that may be related to your own or just a trusted site and asking them to link your site. Stay away from link trading, Google doesn’t like that.
2. Social Media
As briefly mentioned in the previous paragraph, social media is a good way to build a network of backlinks. However, it does have other uses. With a social media presence, consistent posts, and engaging with a community; you can essentially have an entirely separate site, almost like a subdomain, linking back to your main website. You can also use these preestablished sites for brand awareness for any future endeavors.
3. Google Ads
Utilizing Google Ads for any reason is a good way to improve SEO by offsite means. Weather its keyword planning, or for actually paid advertising its a good way to improve your site and bring in more users.
4. Offsite Analytics
Offsite analytics is the use of any third party website analysis program. Google search console is a very useful tool that keeps track of website traffic and warns you of issues that your website could be experiencing.
